Our Bernese
|
| All of our imported
Bernese Mountain Dogs have dual registration. First, because they
were born in Switzerland, they are registered with SKG, SCS and secondly
with the American Kennel Club after we transferred their Swiss registration
into the AKC. On their pedigrees you will find Federation Cynologique
International (FCI) evaluations for each ancestor. The FCI is an international
consortium that evaluates hip joint conformation and elbows for dysplasia.
The FCI's hip scheme is A through E with each letter grade divided
into 2 brackets. Each of our Bernese have also had radiographs submitted
either to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, Inc. (OFA) for evaluations
of hip joint conformation and elbows, or to PennHIP for a Distraction
Index, Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD), and Cavitation evaluation.
